| E-Track Systems: Strap it In, Lock it Down | | Date Added: January 23, 2008 09:17:48 PM |
| Nothing is more critical to shipping than load stability. The best tool for the job is a system of E-Track brackets and straps, which are designed for reliable cargo control during transportation, usually in a trailer. The system accommodates a wide variety of cargo profiles, from boxes to open equipment, and is effective for immobilizing the load either horizontally (the most common configuration), vertically, or against the most forceful of lateral and radial movements. The system integrates high-tension polyester straps with tie down bracketing forged from 12-guage steel and attached to the trailer with screws or via welding. (if installing the latter, be sure the trailer is well-ventilated, as welding fumes may accumulate.) E-Track is most commonly available in 5 and 10 foot lengths, with either galvanized or painted hardware surfaces.
E-Track straps come as either ratchet or cam buckle systems, each with both a rated capacity and a working load limit that allows the user to configure the optimal solution for their needs. The rated capacity is the strap’s tested maximum strength, while the load limit is the recommended maximum weight for daily use, usually about one-third of the rated maximum capacity. Other hardware fittings are available, such as rope tie-offs or spring e-fittings with d-rings, allowing users to configure their vehicle for specific use. Wood end sockets allow for the installation of shelving or racks within the trailer.
All configurations of these industry-standard load management systems are available on our website. Feel free to call us any time if you need our assistance or simply have any questions about e track straps! |
